The new Al Zampa Memorial Bridge across the Carquinez Strait in the San Francisco Bay is the first new suspension bridge built in the United States since 1973. The new Carquinez Bridge Opened Saturday November 8th 2003.

Crockett Vista:
Although officially not open due to power and water hookups, it is completed and the AL Zampa plaque is in place. It's located between Crockett & Rodeo on Old Highway 40 (San Pablo Ave.). Check out the great view!

 

The Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge is the only bridge in the U.S. named for a blue collar worker, a construction worker, an Iron Worker. It represents the men and women of all building and construction trades who work on and build these projects which become monuments for generations to see and visit.
